Zev Berkowitz has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a School Psychologist for over 20 years. After graduating from New York University, Zev started working in outpatient and inpatient clinics, as well as in group practice. Since 2008, Zev has also been in private practice and then in 2018, Zev founded Online Virtual Counselors.

Her work began with adults and children with ASD in a variety of settings which included case management and setting up residential services for adults with disabilities. Angela was the director of a weekend camp for adults with autism and other neurogenic disorders for 9 years and served on the board of a nonprofit organization providing therapeutic art techniques to help individuals with ASD with self-regulation, independence, and self-Esteem.

I have a Bachelor’s in Psychology and two Master’s, one in Educational Psychology and one in Social Work (Adelphi University). I also have a 40-hour training in autism as a registered behavior technician and a Graduate Certificate in Expressive Art Therapy. The theories and techniques I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Approach, Solution Focused Therapy, mindfulness interventions, and expressive art modalities (e.g music, art, and drama therapy).

Currently, I hold a Certification of Evidence-Based Mental Health Practices by the NYS OMH. Modalities I would like to work with are somatic, CBT, DBT, and mindfulness-based practices.
