Biography

Prior to embarking on this rewarding career, Marianne Cook was a classically trained violinist who played professionally in NYC. She  earned a Masters Degree in Social Work from NYU in 2008 and is licensed to practice in NJ and NY.  Marianne Cook is passionate about meditation, nature and the healing power of a good laugh! 

Marianne Cook  provides individual and couples therapy, using a collaborative, strength-based approach to help clients create new ways of understanding and coping with the challenges in life. She  has extensive experience treating depression, anxiety and addiction. Depending on the client’s circumstances, Marianne pulls from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Relational Life Therapy (RLT), mindfulness and solution-focused treatment approaches and is also well-versed in 12-step philosophy. Above all, Marianne is committed to providing a warm, non-judgemental space for clients to embark upon their healing journey. 

Per Marianne Cook,  Through relationships, we find meaning, joy, and purpose in life. However, these same relationships can cause pain, leading to maladaptive coping patterns and behaviors that leave us feeling stuck and even numb and disconnected from our true selves.
