PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) is a disorder that sometimes develops in people who have experienced a traumatic situation sometimes many years ago. It causes an uncontrolled emotional or psychological response to different stimuli, triggering their trauma and the distress they felt when it occurred.
The causes of trauma are very different, but they are all based on the emotions of fear and distress. For example, Traumatic events can include experiences such as accidents, natural disasters, violence, abuse, or other situations that threaten a person’s safety or sense of security.
It’s important to note that everyone responds to trauma differently and may experience some or all these symptoms to varying degrees.
With a range of evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Trauma-Focused Therapy, we work with each person to create a personalized treatment plan. We aim to help you move beyond your traumatic experiences and reclaim your life with confidence and resilience.
