Biography

Tara Moyle is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over twenty years of experience working with adolescents. She has served in a wide range of academic environments including universities, as a professor and counselor, in nonprofits, and as a teacher in a performing arts high school.

As a trauma-informed therapist, Tara incorporates her three main areas of experience— education, the arts, and mental health, into a complementary treatment modality. Theories and techniques include Narrative therapy, CBT, mindfulness, play therapy, IFS, (Internal Family Systems), Brainspotting, Existential, Feminist, and Jungian/archetypal theory, and short-term solution-focused strategies. She currently accepts clients aged 12+.

Specialty areas with teens and young adults include transitions such as high school to college and the post-college years, high-performing students struggling with perfectionism and anxiety, the LGBTQ+ community, and first-generation college students. Tara’s background in education informs her counseling work, especially as students today face multiple academic, social, and emotional challenges.

Interested in the entire span of human development, Tara also supports adult life adjustments such as parenting, relationship issues, and divorce, vocational concerns, midlife, retirement, aging, illness, grief, and loss. Past clients include those with issues such as ADHD, ASD, PTSD, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, bullying/social exclusion, and mild to severe adverse childhood experiences. She has worked with a wide variety of cultural and religious backgrounds, as well as various generational perspectives.
