Whitney Dixon

My name is Whitney Dixon, and I am a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (P-LPC). I am a busy wife and mother of 3 awesome kids, and I can’t forget my two dogs who are loved and taken care of as if they were my children as well. I have worked in many sectors of Mental Health including community mental health, inpatient, private practice, and corrections. I have experience working with several mental health disorders; however, I specialize in depression, anxiety, postpartum and life stressors/adjustment. I also have gained an increased interest in couples counseling. I have worked with clients between the ages of 6- 80 years old. I enjoy working with young adults to older adults. I also specialize in working with new mothers and working mothers. The demands of being a full time mom can be challenging. I work with my clients on finding balance and being able to find themselves again in the world wind of motherhood.

I encourage my clients to come as you are, where you are. I make it my mission to help my clients realize their worth, gain solutions, and maneuver through life with a new sense of confidence. I believe that everyone should have the tools and coping skills to utilize in their life, when they see fit. I use several modalities such as: CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, and Person- Centered Therapy. I am always looking into new modules and techniques to use with my clients. With that being said, I truly look forward to meeting and helping new clients!
